What happens when two sisters share a passion for international education? You get a remarkable journey of innovation, resilience, and commitment to the international education community. Here is the story of Schools & Agents!
What started as a simple online directory for language schools and agents has transformed into a dynamic platform for the international education industry. Founded in 2008, the Schools & Agents platform started as a place to publish news and press releases and eventually became a member-driven community where education providers, agents, and service providers connect and share their stories.
Meet Bernice Camilleri and Lynne Farrugia — two sisters who turned Schools & Agents into a thriving global network. Both coming from academic and marketing backgrounds in English language teaching, they took over Schools & Agents in 2015 with a shared mission: to bring the international education community closer together.
In 2017, Schools & Agents organised our first industry event ‘Ski & Network’ in the Swiss Alps, bringing together a small group of schools, agents, and organisations to network in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. It was in the same year that our new website and logo was born.
The COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, causing many businesses in our industry to struggle. Schools & Agents responded by offering free platform access to members and launching live broadcasts. These virtual connections became a much-loved feature, proving that our community could adapt and support each other, even in the most challenging times.
The year 2024 marked a significant milestone for Schools & Agents. We celebrated making it through the COVID-19 pandemic by launching a brand new website, introducing innovative products, and starting exciting new partnerships.
Today, we’re proud to say that Schools & Agents connects 600+ agents across 82 countries and reaches over 150,000 industry players monthly. We’re more committed than ever to our mission of bringing the international education community closer together. Want to be part of this exciting journey? Contact us and let’s connect the world of international education together!
