Festivities in Manchester for International Students

  Publisher : Bernice   27 November 2025 07:17

It’s beginning to look a lot like…Christmas market time! 🀩

Manchester is a proud home to not only some of the best Christmas markets in the U.K., but, perhaps, some of the best in the world! The first Christmas markets in Manchester were established almost 30 years ago, and ever since then, they have continued to prosper and develop into the winter spectacle that they are today! This year, Manchester’s Christmas markets will remain open until Monday, 22nd December, and will provide international students in Manchester with a perfect opportunity to explore the city, learn more about English customs and traditions, and most importantly: create long-lasting memories with fellow students.

Things to see and do at the Christmas markets:

πŸ§‡ Browse the numerous food stalls that can be found all around. The most popular stalls sell tasty street food, such as: English roast dinners, hot Belgian waffles, German bratwurst, French hot potatoes, Korean corn dogs, Chinese bao, and much more!

🍷 Enjoy a soothing cup of mulled wine or hot chocolate to keep you warm in the cold!

⛸️ Put your skates on and skate across the ice skating rink with your friends!

🎑 Take a ride on the Manchester festive wheel and see some amazing sights from around the city!

πŸŽ„ Explore this year’s Christmas parade when it makes its way to the streets of Manchester on Sunday, 7th December!

Fortunately for our students, Manchester’s Christmas markets are only a 1-minute walk away from our college. A tour of the Christmas markets will be available to all students in December.
