ICEF Agent Training

ICEF celebrates a significant milestone today, announcing that 3 000 agents have successfully graduated from ICEF agent training courses. Successful graduates are recognised by partners and peers as leaders in the industry.

Ms. Alisa Shashkova from Russia became the 3 000th agent training graduate by completing the ICEF Agent Training Course (IATC) formal test with a nearly perfect score.

ICEF offers five agent training courses – two “professional courses”, the ICEF Agent Training Course (IATC) and the China Education Agent Course (CEAC), and three “destination courses”, the Canada Course for Education Agents (CCEA), the Irish Education Agents Course (IEAC), and the US Agent Training Course (USATC).

Professional courses provide practical, professional training for agency-based international student recruitment counsellors, testing their knowledge of the industry, key destinations, fundamental skills, and daily operations. Alternatively, destination courses support the professional development of agents wishing to specialise in a major study destination (Canada, Ireland, and the USA).

“We are proud to mark this milestone of 3 000 course graduates,” said Tiffany Egler, ICEF’s Director of Agent Relations. “Education agents play an important role in counselling and referring students to education providers around the world. The growth for this kind of training is showing what a demand there is to support the industry and education destination markets – including traditional markets like the USA and Canada, but also emerging markets like Ireland. We see agents as essential to growing global student mobility and look forward to welcoming more agents from around the world as they develop their expertise in our programmes.”

All courses are free of charge and delivered in a self-paced modular format. Regardless of the course, participants are eligible to take a non-compulsory paid test. Agents who successfully pass the exam earn the corresponding course designation and have their name, photo, and company details listed on ICEF’s website. All course graduates are also listed on the Qualified Education Agents (QEA) app produced by ICEF and PIER. The app contains the names of more than 10 000 qualified agents worldwide and is a valuable resource for educators seeking to partner with expert agencies.
