Equinox hits 'hat trick of wins'

Equinox Education Services were delighted to win a second consecutive ‘Excellence in Enterprise’ Award for 'Best Export Business' at the 2019 County Carlow final of the National Enterprise Awards, which were held at the Mount Wolseley Hotel Spa & Golf Resort in Tullow, Carlow this week.

The award is also Equinox’s third consecutive win in only 12-months, representing not only a huge team achievement, but also recognition of the new export markets that the company developing and growing in the realm of #education and #cultural #tourism.  

Other winners at the awards ceremony were Newhaven Kitchens & Bedrooms Ltd who won the Innovation in Small Business Award and Jo Brown who won the Entrepreneurial Vision Award. The overall winner Carlow Tooling Making Services Ltd, will now represent Carlow County Council’s - Local Enterprise Office at the 21st National Enterprise Awards on Wednesday 29th May in the Mansion House in Dublin.

Speaking about the awards, Kathleen Holohan, Chief Executive of Carlow County Council said “the winners here today represent the quality and innovation of indigenous Small and Medium Enterprises who operate in County Carlow and support thousands of jobs in our local economy”, Holohan continued to say “SME’s are the backbone of the County Carlow eco-system and provides much needed employment in our rural communities. Awards provides them with a great opportunity to showcase their achievements to their peers and to the wider public”.

Accepting the award on behalf of Equinox, Managing Director Noel Doyle said “I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of myself and my colleagues Paul, Caroline, Tomoko and Cathy, which I believe is a testament to the hard work that we have undertaken to win new study and cultural programmes for Carlow in competition with major international cities such as Vancouver, Hawaii and Paris. Our ongoing aim is to champion County Carlow, the region and Ireland as a place to study, visit and invest in by bringing ever greater numbers of people into the future.”  He added “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our overseas partners, as well as all the Irish schools we work and finally, not forgetting all of our local host families who deserve great credit for the way they open their homes to embrace visitors”.
