On Sunday, 17th November, the Maltese ELT community came together for a spectacular event that blended sportsmanship, energy, and a healthy dose of competition: the 2nd AVC ELT Football Tournament. Held under sunny skies, the tournament was a celebration of teamwork and camaraderie among the island’s English Language Teaching (ELT) schools.

The day saw enthusiastic participation from several ELT schools, with students, teachers, and staff donning their team colors and displaying their football skills on the pitch. The tournament showcased not just the athletic talents of participants but also their passion for fostering connections and building a stronger ELT community.

After a series of spirited matches, English Path emerged victorious, claiming the trophy and cementing their place in this growing tradition. Their exceptional teamwork and determination on the field were applauded by all, setting a benchmark for future tournaments.

This successful event would not have been possible without the generous sponsorship of AVC, whose commitment to supporting the ELT industry in Malta made the day even more memorable. Their contribution highlighted the value of industry collaboration in creating opportunities beyond the classroom.

"Events like these go beyond competition," said a participant from one of the schools. "They’re about connection, teamwork, and celebrating the diversity and vibrancy of the ELT community here in Malta."

As the sun set on the tournament, there was a shared sentiment of accomplishment and anticipation for more events of this kind. The 2nd AVC ELT Football Tournament not only strengthened the bonds within the ELT industry but also showcased the power of sports to bring people together.

Here’s to many more such events in the future, as the ELT community continues to thrive both on and off the field.
