From Friday 7th January at 4 am, pre-departure travel COVID tests will no longer be needed for under 18s and adults fully vaccinated to enter England from overseas.
The requirement to self-isolate on arrival to England until receiving a negative PCR test result will also be lifted.
Instead, those arriving in England can take a lateral flow test on day two after arrival, if this test is positive, a further PCR test will be needed, plus isolation as usual in the case of a positive test.
