Premium gastronomy in Paris: a two week French language and culinary experience for 2027

  Publisher : Bernice   07 September 2026 06:36

Paris has always offered international students something that goes beyond the classroom. Language is woven into everyday life, from ordering at a neighbourhood pâtisserie to understanding the traditions behind a carefully prepared meal. In June 2027, Les ateliers FL is taking that connection between language and culture considerably further with its Premium Gastronomy programme, an intensive two week experience combining French tuition, culinary discovery and some of the most recognisable elements of French gastronomic heritage.

Created for adults who want to experience French through one of the country's most celebrated cultural traditions, the programme runs in Paris from 14 to 25 June 2027. Participants must be at least 18 years old, and French levels from A2 to C1 are accepted, making it suitable for students who already have a foundation in the language and want to develop their confidence through an immersive and highly distinctive experience. Classes are kept particularly small, with a maximum of eight students, while personalised support is available on site throughout the programme.

Learning French through gastronomy

The appeal of this programme for international education agents lies in how closely language learning is connected with practical cultural experience. Rather than treating gastronomy as an occasional activity alongside a traditional French course, Les ateliers FL places it at the centre of the programme.

Participants work on their gastronomic vocabulary, oral expression and understanding of the techniques, expertise and cultural codes associated with French cuisine. The programme explores both tradition and innovation, helping students understand not only the language used around food and cooking, but also the wider historical and contemporary significance of gastronomy in France.

This approach can make the programme particularly attractive to agents advising adult students who are looking for a more purposeful form of language travel. It offers a clear theme around which students can practise French in authentic situations while gaining insight into an area of French culture with considerable international appeal.

Eight educational mornings and eight gourmet afternoons

The two week structure combines eight mornings of educational workshops with eight gourmet afternoons. During the morning sessions, participants explore important themes and techniques connected with French cuisine. In the afternoons, the focus moves beyond the classroom through encounters with recognised artisans and chefs and opportunities to discover the gastronomic heritage of Paris.

For students, this creates continuity between formal learning and real world application. Vocabulary and ideas introduced during the educational sessions can be encountered again through conversations, visits and culinary experiences, giving participants repeated opportunities to use their French in context.

For agents, this also provides a strong proposition when speaking to clients who want something more specialised than a conventional adult French programme. The itinerary combines structured study with experiences that are closely connected to the subject rather than simply adding general sightseeing around the course.

A culinary experience at the Ritz Escoffier School

One of the standout elements of the Premium Gastronomy programme is a cooking workshop in the kitchens of the renowned Ritz Escoffier School on Place Vendôme. The workshop is followed by a private tasting, providing participants with an opportunity to experience French culinary expertise within one of Paris's most prestigious gastronomic environments.

Experiences of this kind can be particularly valuable when agents are presenting premium programmes to clients. They give the course a memorable focal point while reinforcing the connection between language learning and direct cultural participation.

Discovering Versailles and Giverny

The programme is not limited to central Paris. Two full day excursions are included, taking participants to Versailles and Giverny, both important destinations within France's cultural heritage. These excursions broaden the experience beyond gastronomy alone and give students additional opportunities to encounter French history, art and culture during their stay.

Lunch packs and public transport tickets are also included in the programme, helping to simplify some of the practical arrangements associated with the scheduled activities.

A specialist option for adult students in 2027

With international students increasingly looking for experiences that feel distinctive and connected to their personal interests, specialist programmes can give agents an important additional option when matching clients with language study abroad.

Les ateliers FL's Premium Gastronomy programme brings together French language development, small classes, personalised support, contact with culinary professionals and cultural discovery within a concise two week format. Its scheduled dates of 14 to 25 June 2027 also make it an interesting summer option for adults who may not be able to commit to a longer period abroad.

For agents working with clients who are enthusiastic about food, French culture or experiential language learning, it is a programme that offers an unusually clear story to tell: learn the language while discovering the traditions, people and places that have helped make French gastronomy famous around the world.
