Heaton Park is largest park in the north-west of England, and is home to many attractions that are perfect for students. Activities include: a boat ride across the boating lake, a visit to the farm zoo, a walk through the forest, a picnic on the fields, and a trip to the amusement park (depending on seasonal availability). Heaton Park is also the home of the famous music festival, Parklife. Parklife attracts around 80,000 people per year and is one of Manchester’s most anticipated events. Heaton Park is only a 15-minute tram ride from Kings Hall College, so it makes a perfect destination to visit to unwind after a hard day studying.
Platt Fields Park is a large public park in Fallowfield, a bustling student-centric district south of Manchester city centre. Platt Fields park is the location for many seasonal events throughout the year, including: Easter funfairs, religious funfairs, hot air balloon displays, arts & crafts events, music events, food festivals, and Halloween funfairs. Platt Fields Park is a 27-minute bus ride from Kings Hall College, so it is an easily accessible park to visit from the city centre.
Alexandra Park is located south of the city centre and is only a 23-minute bus ride from Kings Hall College. Alexandra Park is a scenic park that is a popular destination for walkers, runners, and picnickers. The park boasts many green areas, a small lake, and a café known as the Pavilion.
