In early December, IELS Malta welcomed members of FDSV for a three-day familiarisation (FAM) trip, providing an immersive experience of the school, its accommodations, and the cultural richness of the island.
During the visit, participants toured the modern IELS school in Sliema, explored the school-owned Days Inn Hotel, and discovered other accommodation options offered by IELS. The programme also included dinners at local restaurants and cultural excursions to the medieval city of Mdina and Malta’s vibrant baroque capital, Valletta.
While demand for Malta from the German education market has softened in recent years—largely due to perceptions of the destination as less affordable—IELS received exceptionally positive feedback from all participating agents.
Feedback from FDSV Members
Julia Richter, Executive Director of FDSV, shared:
"We look back on an exceptionally inspiring FAM trip to Malta, enriched with vivid impressions, wonderful experiences, and many memorable encounters. In just a short time, we not only explored the IELS language school and its accommodation, but also immersed ourselves in Malta’s vibrant culture and the many treasures the island has to offer. Our heartfelt thanks go to Daniel, Carol, and the entire IELS team for the valuable insights, the warm hospitality, and the unforgettable time we were able to share."
Bonnie Stocket (Pro Linguis / StudyLingua AG) and Mara Brenner (Study Lingua Sprachreisen) added:
"Our FAM Trip with IELS Malta was a warm and inspiring experience. After a lovely welcome dinner with the team, we enjoyed an informative school presentation and visits to the school’s accommodations the next day. A great short lunch and a beautifully guided tour through Mdina and Valletta added cultural depth to the visit—our guide impressed us with her knowledge and charming anecdotes. The day concluded with an enjoyable dinner together with a representative of the Malta Tourism Authority, rounding off a well-organised FAM Trip. We left Malta with many wonderful impressions and a genuine insight into the school and daily life at IELS."
Selim Dervish from Lingualand Languages GmbH commented:
"Just returned from Malta after a wonderful trip organized by FDSV and IELS, and I’m carrying a few reflections with me. There is something truly unique about Malta, the warmth of its people, the blend of cultures, and the way the island holds so many shades of light."
A Note from IELS
Olga Stanichevskaia, CCO of IELS, reflected:
"It was a pleasure hosting the members of FDSV in Malta. We are very grateful to Julia Richter, Executive Director of FDSV, for her support in making this FAM trip possible. We hope the trip helped all participants, especially those who were new to Malta, gain a better understanding of the destination and learn more about our product. Malta is a unique blend of history, culture, education opportunities, and entertainment, and we hope it will remain in participants’ hearts for a long time."
The FAM trip highlighted not only the quality of IELS’ educational and accommodation offerings but also Malta’s vibrant culture and stunning heritage, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
