Last April 15 teachers from Hispania, escuela de español participated in the IXX Foro Internacional de profesores ELE/EL2 organized by the Universitat de València and Editorial Difusión and sponsored by FEDELE Valencia and held at the Facultat de Filologia, Traducció i Comunicació of the Universitat de València.
This Forum is a meeting point for those interested in the teaching and research of Spanish as a Foreign Language. Due to its characteristics, it has become a space for discussion and a showcase for innovative and effective ideas that allow for dynamism and improvement in the classroom.
The Forum is structured in two blocks: on the one hand, training, in which prestigious researchers present their advances in the world of ELE; on the other hand, the most interactive part: the exchange of practical experiences and teaching resources by the participants.
It is in this part where the Hispania team participated presenting 4 practical experiences of different styles and themes:
- "Te oigo de cine. A journey through the indirect style and dubbing in the ELE classroom". By teachers Nerea Milán and Cristina Martínez.
- "Lo confieso: los conectores me traen de cabeza. Didactic proposal to integrate sentence connectors in the communicative context through theatricality in the ELE classroom". By professors Alicia Ramos and María Palanca.
- "Con la cultura hemos chocado! An interactive escape room to work on cultural references in the ELE classroom". By teachers Laura March and Sara Palazón.
- "Trazando el tiempo. Visual mural through the perfective and imperfective aspect". By professors Ángel Núñez and Carlos Martínez.
We had the opportunity to talk about the Hispania Method for teaching Spanish and we were able to share our experiences with other professionals of the ELE world. It was very enriching because there were more than 60 practical experiences.
At the end of the Forum the participants voted to decide which were the best practical experiences presented and the first two prizes went to 2 of the experiences presented by the faculty of our professional school.
The first prize went to the wonderful interactive scape room created by teachers Laura March and Sara Palazón with which they presented a hilarious way to talk about Spanish culture and especially Valencian culture.
Our school, Hispania, Spanish language school is located in the heart of Valencia, a city in eastern Spain bathed by the Mediterranean Sea and full of culture and tradition that teachers Laura and Sara knew how to capture in an interactive activity so that our students could get into it.
The second prize went to the proposal of teachers Alicia Ramos and María Palanca. They opted to work with theatrical tools in the classroom to stimulate the oral use of textual and sentence connectors.
From the game and fiction, an activity is generated based on funny confessions made by the students and that they have to justify using the connectors that their classmates will decide. A very fun and useful way to practice textual cohesion and oral fluency.
The team of teachers at Hispania, escuela de español is a very prepared staff, always willing to continue training and to share the Hispania Method with other professionals. It is always in continuous internal training, as we have a Training Department that ensures that our staff is up to date with the latest resources, the latest editorial news and numerous external trainings to continue growing and building together the best team in the world.
Excellence in the classroom is one of the characteristics of our school and we are very proud of the Hispania faculty and the success achieved in the last IXX International Forum of ELE and EL/2 teachers.
Congratulations, team, you are the best!
