Last Friday, September 27th, the Hilton Malta hosted Domain Academy’s 2024 Graduation Ceremony, a momentous event that brought together over 600 guests in celebration of the academic achievements of 180 graduates. Representing 17 different nationalities, students who completed their studies at the Masters, Bachelors, and Diploma levels were honored in this prestigious ceremony, marking a pivotal moment in their educational journey. This year’s qualifications were awarded by respected institutions, including the University of Derby, Pearson Ed Excel, Qualifi, and Domain Academy itself.

This year's ceremony was especially meaningful as it marked a decade of successful partnership with the University of Derby. For ten years, Domain Academy and the University of Derby have worked together to provide students with high-quality education that prepares them for the challenges of the modern world. This milestone highlights Domain Academy's ongoing commitment to academic excellence and the strong collaborative ties it has built with international educational institutions.

Among the most memorable moments of the ceremony was the heartfelt speech by graduate Ms. Agius Barbuto, who eloquently reflected on the significance of the day. “Graduation is not merely a ceremonial rite of passage; it is a testament to our perseverance, commitment to growth, and readiness to face the future confidently,” she said. Ms. Barbuto shared her insights on how each graduate’s journey at Domain Academy had been transformative, whether they arrived with a clear path or were still in the process of discovering their ambitions. She spoke of how, despite the diversity of their backgrounds, they all shared the common goal of learning, growing, and becoming the best versions of themselves.

The ceremony concluded on a high note with a surprise twist introduced by the master of ceremonies—the tossing of the official Graduation Teddy Bear, affectionately named ‘Domi’. Graduates were then invited to toss their mortarboards into the air, symbolizing the close of the official ceremony and the beginning of their new ventures. A lively reception followed, allowing graduates and guests to continue celebrating the momentous occasion together.

Several distinguished guests were in attendance, including VIPs who added to the significance of the day. Mr. Matthew Vella, Permanent Secretary of the Education Ministry, opened the ceremony with a welcome speech. Other notable attendees included Professor Hassan Yazdifar, Professor of Management and Head of Research and Innovation at the University of Derby, Her Excellency Ms. Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, President Emeritus of Malta, and Mr. Lokesh Kumar Meena, Second Secretary of the High Commission of India in Malta. Their presence underscored the importance of the event and the international relationships Domain Academy has cultivated over the years.

Domain Academy has been a pillar of high-quality education for 29 years, offering a wide range of study pathways that cater to diverse student interests. These include Business Management, Information Technology, Hospitality, Finance, and Health, among other fields. This year, Domain Academy proudly launched two new MBA programs at Level 7, focusing on Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Management, reflecting the institution’s commitment to staying at the forefront of educational innovation and addressing the needs of the global job market.
