The Office of International Services and Programs at the College of the Canyons works with agents and education partners abroad to develop Summer and Winter cultural immersive camps. Programs can run for two weeks or more and include English language instructions, credit college classes, sample university lectures, University tours, cultural activities in Los Angeles, and housing.
For example, this summer, we welcomed 27 students of middle school and high school ages from Taiwan for a two-week program and included the following:
- Airport pickup
- Accommodations with local families
- University credit class – Introduction to College and Strategies for Success
- Sample University Lectures - Math, Astronomy and Animation
- Intensive English Language program
- University tours - University of Southern California and UCLA
- Day Trip to Los Angeles – Tours of Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Downtown, and a visit to the Getty Center, Hollywood Bowl.
- Amusement Parks visits: Universal Studios Hollywood and Six Flags Magic Mountain
