Carmel College is celebrating an incredible achievement as the girls’ waterpolo team returned home with a Bronze medal from the Queensland State Waterpolo Championships. After a nail-biting final, the team secured a 12-11 victory, demonstrating skill, determination, and teamwork at its finest.
Standout performances came from Bridget Mihaljevich, who finished as the tournament’s top goal scorer, and Isobel Houliston, who ranked as the second highest goal scorer overall. Their remarkable talent and consistency throughout the competition were key to Carmel College’s success.
The team’s coaches, Dylan Smith and Sarah Stewart, played an integral role in guiding the players, combining expert training with strong motivational support. Equally important was the unwavering encouragement from families, whose presence and cheers throughout the week helped propel the team to victory.
