At Punta Macerone, students encounter a variety of natural habitats, engaging in activities designed to ignite scientific curiosity and adventure. Through nature investigations and aquatic ecosystem observations, children explore the intricate life of lakes and wetlands. Orienteering and environmental exploration challenges participants to develop navigation skills while appreciating the surrounding landscape. The Agri Hyla Educational Farm is a living classroom where students witness the interplay between humans, animals, and nature. For those interested in history and active role-play, the Roman Camp Experience offers a week-long journey into ancient times. Designed for children aged 8–14, the program combines creativity, learning, and interactive fun. Across three four-hour sessions, participants craft and personalise their own Roman shields using safe materials, while learning about the function and significance of these protective tools during the Republican era.
The final session brings history to life through an exhilarating reenactment inspired by the Battle of Lake Trasimeno. Working alongside professional reenactors dressed as Romans and Celts, children perform historical military formations such as the testudo and engage in a team mission to recover Roman standards and repel enemy forces. Each participant leaves the camp with their own handcrafted shield, a lasting memento of teamwork, creativity, and living history.
