IALC News: English Outdoors Launches New English & Toronto Discovery Programme for Adults

  Publisher : Bernice   24 June 2026 06:41

Available from 7 September to 30 October 2026, the programme offers an immersive alternative to traditional classroom-based language study, reflecting growing demand for experiential learning that develops communication skills through active participation in the local environment.

Toronto Becomes the Classroom

True to the English Outdoors philosophy, students will not spend their mornings in a conventional classroom. Instead, lessons take place in different locations across Toronto, allowing participants to practise English in authentic situations while discovering the city’s culture, history, architecture, food scene, and local communities.

Classes may meet at iconic locations such as St. Lawrence Market, Union Station, Evergreen Brick Works, and other notable sites throughout the city.

By integrating language learning with real-world experiences, students develop fluency and confidence through meaningful communication rather than simulated classroom exercises.

Small Groups, Personalised Learning

The programme is designed for students seeking a highly interactive learning experience. Classes run from 10:00 to 13:00, Monday to Friday, with a maximum of eight students per group and an average class size of five to six participants.

Three themed excursions are included each week, with lessons built around topics such as art and culture, immigration and diversity, architecture, food, history, and contemporary life in Toronto.

Monday and Friday sessions focus on personalised feedback, error correction, and fluency development tailored to individual student needs.

The minimum entry level for group programmes is Pre-Intermediate, while beginners can participate through private one-to-one tuition.

Accommodation and Programme Dates

Homestay accommodation with carefully selected local host families is available for students wishing to maximise their cultural immersion and language practice outside class hours.

For learners looking to combine language study with cultural discovery, Toronto offers a dynamic setting in which every day becomes an opportunity to learn, explore, and connect.
