The international education calendar is about to become considerably busier, with September marking the start of another packed season of conferences, workshops, networking events and industry meetings around the world. For education agents, these events offer far more than a chance to fill the diary with appointments. They provide an opportunity to reconnect with trusted partners, discover new providers, hear what is happening across key study destinations and build relationships that can shape recruitment plans for the year ahead. Throughout autumn and winter 2026, English UK will be maintaining a strong presence at a range of important international education events across Europe, Latin America and Asia, while also hosting several opportunities for agents to meet UK English language providers directly.
From major industry gatherings such as ST Alphe UK and ICEF Berlin to regional workshops in Argentina and Colombia, English UK will be using these events to promote its member centres and the wider UK English language teaching sector. Agents attending any of the following events will therefore have plenty of opportunities to catch up with the team, discuss developments within UK ELT and strengthen connections with English language schools across the country.
The autumn events season begins in London with ST Alphe UK, taking place from 4 to 6 September 2026. The event remains one of the key meeting points on the study travel calendar, bringing education agents and providers together for several days of appointments, networking and industry conversation.
English UK will be promoting its member centres and the UK ELT sector to agents attending from around the world. Members of the English UK team will be present throughout the event, including Jodie, Huan, Roz, Alice, Siobhan, Naadiya and Eleanor at different stages of the weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, agents will be able to find the team at table A2 on the lower floor.
The weekend will also include the ST Star Awards, where English UK will have a particularly strong reason to celebrate. Fifteen English UK member centres and groups, four corporate members and fourteen partner agencies have been named among this year's finalists. English UK itself has also been shortlisted for the ST Leading Star Association award, with Huan and Roz attending the awards dinner to support the member finalists.
Immediately afterwards, attention remains in London for the ALTO CPD event on 7 September. English UK's Jodie will participate in the full day professional development and networking programme, which brings together leaders and decision makers from across educational travel.
ALTO events focus strongly on collaboration, the exchange of best practice and discussion around the trends affecting the international education sector. For participants, it is another opportunity to compare experiences across markets while maintaining close relationships with organisations involved in student mobility and educational travel.
Later in September, English UK's international activity moves to Buenos Aires for the IFL LATAM Workshop from 18 to 20 September. The event provides an important platform for engagement with education agents recruiting students across Latin America and Central America.
Bethany will represent English UK at the workshop, promoting member centres and the UK ELT sector through individual meetings with agents. She will also deliver a presentation covering current UK ELT market trends as well as wider developments affecting the industry.
The event is supported by AARSA, the Asociación Argentina de Estudios en el Exterior, and provides another valuable opportunity for UK providers and regional education agents to strengthen relationships within one of the most important international student recruitment markets.
Agents who are unable to attend an event in person will still have an opportunity to connect with UK providers through StudyWorld Online on 23 and 24 September.
The virtual format enables education agents and providers from across the world to arrange meetings, develop new partnerships and reconnect with existing contacts without the need to travel. The English UK team will be available throughout the event to support delegates and help participants make the most of their meetings.
For agents exploring new UK English language partners, StudyWorld Online can be a particularly useful opportunity to begin conversations before arranging more detailed discussions or future face to face meetings.
November begins with one of the largest international education networking events of the year. ICEF Berlin takes place from 1 to 3 November, bringing together thousands of senior professionals from education providers, agencies and organisations operating throughout the international education sector.
English UK staff will be present during the event, giving agents another opportunity to discuss the UK English language market and connect with the association.
The final evening of ICEF Berlin will also see English UK host its UK Reception at Hotel Berlin on 3 November. The reception will bring together UK English language providers, international study abroad agents and other important sector stakeholders in a more informal environment.
For agents already attending ICEF Berlin, the reception provides an additional opportunity to meet UK partners away from the formal appointment schedule, develop existing relationships and make new contacts within the UK ELT community.
Closer to home, the English UK South West Annual Conference and AGM will take place in Bristol on 14 November.
The English UK team will join members of the regional group for their annual gathering, which provides an opportunity for schools across South West England to discuss developments affecting their businesses and the wider English language teaching sector.
Regional events such as this are an important part of the English UK calendar, helping member centres exchange ideas and maintain connections within their local professional community.
China remains an important market for many UK education providers, and English UK will return to the country for StudyWorld China from 15 to 19 November.
Taking place across Beijing and Shanghai, the event connects UK education and service providers with selected education agents operating within the Chinese market. Organised by English UK, StudyWorld China is designed to give participating providers the opportunity to build relationships directly within one of the world's largest student recruitment markets.
Siobhan and Eleanor from English UK will accompany the participating group and provide support throughout the programme.
For agents in China, the event offers direct access to UK providers looking to strengthen or expand their presence in the market, while participating schools gain valuable opportunities to understand local recruitment conditions and develop relationships face to face.
Latin America returns to the agenda later in November with ST Alphe Colombia 2026, taking place in Bogotá from 17 to 19 November.
Roz will represent English UK at StudyTravel's new event in the Colombian market, promoting English UK members and UK ELT to education agents recruiting students from Colombia and neighbouring countries.
The visit will also provide an opportunity to renew connections with ANEX Colombia and continue developing relationships with agencies across the region. With Latin America remaining an important recruitment market for many UK English language centres, events of this kind allow schools and agents to build stronger partnerships through direct, market specific conversations.
The final event on the calendar is the English UK Sales and Marketing Conference in London on 11 December.
The one day conference is designed for ELT centre professionals involved in promoting and selling English language courses to international students. The programme will explore themes affecting the commercial side of English language education, including changing marketing approaches, relationship building, business growth and student conversion.
Although primarily aimed at professionals working within ELT centres, the topics discussed are closely connected to the wider relationship between schools, education agents and international students. Understanding how providers are adapting their marketing, sales and recruitment strategies can also help agents identify emerging trends across the UK market.
From London and Berlin to Buenos Aires, Beijing, Shanghai and Bogotá, the coming months will place English UK and its members in front of education agents across several major recruitment regions.
For agents working with UK English language providers, these events offer useful opportunities to stay informed about developments within UK ELT while maintaining the personal relationships that remain central to international student recruitment. Whether through an appointment at a workshop, a conversation at an English UK table, an industry reception or an online meeting, there will be numerous opportunities to reconnect before the end of 2026.
With recruitment strategies for 2027 already taking shape for many organisations, the autumn and winter events season provides a timely opportunity for agents to review existing partnerships, explore new UK ELT connections and discuss what the next student recruitment cycle may bring.
