fRilingue: 10th Anniversary Art Camp

Published on Tuesday, April 4, 2017

fRilingue is now 10 years old! That’s right, this summer will mark 10 years since we held our first language camp in Fribourg, Switzerland - how time flies!

We’ve already started celebrating with competitions & prize giveaways, and this summer we plan to celebrate in style with staff both past and present. However, we’re not just celebrating with competitions and parties, we’re also adding a brand new product to mark the occasion: our 2017 Art Camp!

Our brand new offering will take place between 23rd July and 5th August and will see our typical language camps take a creative twist as teens aged between 13 and 18 years will have the chance to develop their English or French language skills in a more immersive and creative environment through artistic mediums in an isolated Swiss mountain location.

So where exactly is our location? Our charming chalet is located up in the mountains between Fribourg and la Gruyère. This isolated location allows for inspiration, creativity and immersive interaction with the team! The breathtaking surroundings are home to many hiking trails and viewpoints which offer plenty of opportunities for landscape sketching and aerial photography!

How will the courses work? Rather than taking a a more conventional and theoretical approach to language, “Learn by Doing’ is our motto for this camp, which will be centred around several multi-dimensional projects; painting, drawing, dancing, music, creative writing, filming and more!

Weekdays will be dedicated to creative and collective projects that will be brought together with the sharing and combining of ideas, the results of which will be displayed during the weekend exhibitions, projections and performance events.

Joining us as a teacher and artist-in-residence in this camp will be Paris-based artist Mathias Costa, who has been returning to us as a French teacher and animator for over 3 years now. After graduating from Brussels school of art, Mathias opened his studio in Paris a few years back and has since continued to develop collective projects that quickly take an educational and international turn. His language and art courses dive into a a whole new creative universe that is characterised by his animated personality and joie de vivre. You can check out Mathias’ website here:

To top it all off, as part of our 10th anniversary celebrations we’re offering a special deal to agents! For groups of 10 participants or more, we’re offering the NET price of 500 CHF per head, as opposed to the usual 800 CHF!

Please note, this offer is available until 30th April 2017!
