What does the Diploma consist of?

In this Diploma students get to work on linguistic skills that help them get by in their day to day jobs in the Hospitality and Catering industry. The course corresponds to a set of relational, administrative and commercial tasks commonly performed in the field of tourism, hotels and restaurants. It focuses on professional language and includes the 4 language skills essential to this sector of specialization.

What are the prerequisites to be eligible to apply for the French Diploma in Hospitality & Catering?

  • 16 years minimum at the start of the program
  • School-leaving certificate
  • Be able to write text on a computer and navigate software
  • Have a theoretical knowledge of the realities of the professional world
  • French Level Prerequisite: A1 to B1 according to the student’s objective

Here are the topics that will be tackled in the French Diploma in Hospitality & Catering Course:

  • Tourism
  • How to research particular services - from suppliers to agencies - and what to look for
  • How to write a letter, email, fax, in response to a given tourism situation
  • How to design and create a short information leaflet, loyalty or promotion document for tourism services
  • The hotel
  • Explaining the booking conditions; making a booking, modify a booking or cancelling a reservation (individual or group)
  • Restaurants & Catering Services
  • How to take an order from the customer (s)
  • How to offer special or personalized menus (groups, packages, children, diets)

How will the course be structured?

  • 20 hours of intensive course per week. with a teacher 
  • 8 weeks / level = 240H of training / learning (160H Teacher + 80H or + unlimited platform - training - homework)
  • Progress test after 4 weeks
  • Another test at the end of the 6th week
  • Official DFP of Tourism at the end of the 8th week
  • Duration of training per level: 8 weeks / level
  • 1 hour of lessons = 55 minutes
