FELTOM promoting Malta as an ELT Destination in Japan

Published EDU-WorldWide on Wednesday, August 1, 2018

This week, FELTOM CEO, Mr James Perry, attended the Japan-Malta Business Forum with the Maltese Delegation in Toyko, Japan. The introduction was by Malta’s Prime Minister, Dr Joseph Muscat, which was followed by a speech from Mr Hiroyuki Ishige, JETRO Chairman and CEO, and finally a presentation by Mr Kenneth Farrugia, Finance Malta Chairperson.

All three speakers mentioned Malta as a tourist destination, but most importantly they mentioned Malta as an ELT destination. They stated that the business of English learning is of a high level in Malta, and this therefore attracts over 87,000 students every year, who can also work while they study.

After the speeches there was a networking event, where agents and business owners had the opportunity to meet FELTOM and the Maltese Delegation to discuss their business plans. Mr Perry met with some agents that were already working with Maltese schools and they had attended to refresh their knowledge about Malta and learn more about the visa. He also met with prospective agents and business people who are interested in sending students to Malta. FELTOM Partner, Turkish Airlines, were present supporting the federation and offering their discounts to students.

FELTOM would like to thank Trade Malta for organizing this trip to Japan.

Mr James Perry will be visiting Osaka, Japan, today, where he has more back-to-back network events planned.
