Besant Hill students conduct research in World History classroom

  Publisher : Bernice   01 March 2023 16:17

As part of their learning about the impacts of industrialization on society, the World History classroom was transformed into a courtroom in which a factory owner, Titus Salt, was put on trial to determine if he was guilty of harming Britain's children. Students conducted excellent research into the working conditions, punishments, and safety in the factories during the 19th Century and learned about some of the reforms that happened during this time (such as the 1833 Factory Act).

They all fully participated - getting into their characters using courtroom language and dressing as their characters! To read more about academics at Besant Hill, please visit: https://www.besanthill.org/program/academics/
