The Eaquals Annual International Conference provides an opportunity to exchange expertise and examples of best practice with an audience of language education professionals from over 40 countries. Members and non-members of our Association will attend and delegates will include academic managers, language teachers and business directors along with specialists from international education organisations.

The presentations and workshops at the conference will be organized under the following four main strands:

Language Teaching and Learning:

This strand focuses on the practical side of teaching and learning, and sessions will explore inclusive pedagogical practices suitable for culturally, linguistically, and cognitively diverse students. Presenters will also look at how to include hot social topics in the lesson to raise awareness and student engagement. The area of how to adapt ICT to the language classroom will also feature as well as more general sessions on exploring the future of the English language when dealing with career-oriented learners.

Course Design, CEFR and Assessment:

The presentations in this category will focus on course design and, in particular, will explore the integration of the new CEFR companion volume in relation to curriculum development. Additional sessions will also investigate the psychology of language learning in setting learners up for success and the use of pathways in maintaining learner focus on achieving higher proficiency levels within assessment settings.

Staff Development and well-being:

This strand will address all areas of staff development and highlight the importance of CPD both face-to-face and online while also considering the latest market changes and the subsequent on staffing. The presenters will also examine and discuss the latest tips and approaches in student and teacher wellbeing in terms of reducing stress and achieving mindfulness.

Leadership and Management:

Our leadership and managing strand will cover the important areas of communication as well as employee engagement and leading employer involvement. The area of management will also be discussed from an academic point of view with reference to the Eaquals Academic Management Competences Framework as a practical tool to identify strengths and areas for improvement in order to further whole school development.
