Robin Adams leads new IALC Board

New IALC Board

IALC is delighted to announce that the Association has elected Robin Adams, President of CES North America, as its new President.

Robin, who previously served as Vice-President for Marketing, leads an international Board of Directors drawn from IALC Member Schools across seven countries. Reflecting upon being named President of IALC, Robin said: “I am honoured to have the opportunity to continue to serve the members of IALC. This is an extremely challenging assignment, but I do look forward to seeking out new opportunities for our members.”

Newly elected to the IALC Board include Anna France, Chief Executive Officer of Langports English Language College in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney. Anna succeeds Robin Adams as head of Marketing, and said: “I am excited to be a part of this next chapter of IALC. Like many industries, we can all see that the language travel industry will go through a transformation and I look forward to working with our members to explore innovative opportunities that will arise.”

David Sampere, Sales and Marketing Director of France Langue in Biarritz, Bordeaux, Lyon, Nice, Paris has been elected Vice President for Membership. David remarked: “This new role has made me feel both glad, for the trust I have received from the Association and proud, because I am following in the footsteps of my grandfather and father before me. The post-COVID situation will be extremely challenging, and I want to help IALC through the recruitment of new members, and in the evolution of an Association that I hold so dear.”

Finally, Alexandra Borges de Sousa, Managing Director at CIAL Centro De Linguas in Lisbon and Faro has been elected Treasurer for the Association. Alexandra previously served as IALC President from 2011 – 2014 and added: “I was honoured by Robin’s invitation to join his team, and look forward to contribute to IALC’s continued success.”

Completing the new IALC board is Kevin McNally, Owner and Director of Torquay International School as Vice-President for Quality Assurance, Bernhard Roters, Director of CLIC Cadiz, Malaga and Seville as Vice-President for Workshops and Timothy Blake, Owner and Chairman of The London School of English as Company Secretary.

IALC would like to thank the departing IALC President Giorgia Biccelli, Director of Linguadue, for her outstanding leadership of the Association over the past three years.

Also departing the IALC Board is Florian Meierhofer, Owner of BWS Germanlingua in Berlin, Cologne and Munich, who served as Vice President for Membership since 2010 and has been integral to the continued growth and development of the Association, as well as Julia Voevodina, CEO for Liden and Denz in Moscow and St. Petersburg, who served as IALC Treasurer since 2018.
