Interview IMSOL Granada

In today's interview with Rocío Martínez we will be finding out a bit more about Instituto Mediterráneo Sol in Granada.

1. How long has Imsol Granada been operating for?

Our school, Instituto Mediterráneo Sol, opened in October 1992, almost 27 years ago! It has been a very satisfying period for us, as we have grown and learnt together with our students throughout these years.

In addition, we are among the first centers to have obtained quality certifications (CEELE certification in 1999, and accredited center by Instituto Cervantes continuously since 2002).

2. What courses do you offer?

We offer a wide range of course options, as we try to adapt to the different demands and needs of all types of students. The courses are exclusively addressed to students of Spanish as a foreign language, at any level (from total beginners to C2).  From the point of view of age, we propose courses for: University students; Professional workers in various sectors; Teenagers (all services included); People over 50 years (Seniors) and  Courses for groups (all services included), among others. From the point of view of content, you can find: Intensive / Superintensive / Courses of Grammar / Conversation / Individual Courses; Preparation courses for the DELE exams; Specific courses of Spanish Culture/Literature/History, Specific courses for professionals: Spanish for Business, Tourism and Health; Courses for Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language; Special packages of courses of Spanish and Flamenco dance, Spanish and Guitar, in collaboration with a famous flamenco school of Granada.

3. What are the unique selling points of your school?

- The wide range of Spanish courses we offer, depending on the type and number of lessons per week, will make your choice easier whether you are a professional or a University student, a teenager, a retired person or simply someone who wishes to study Spanish in Granada just for fun. All of them cover the 4 skills: listening, oral, reading and writing.

- The highest guarantees: our IMSOL Spanish teaching programmes are organized according to the levels of the European Common Reference Framework for Languages (Council of Europe) and to the Curricula Plan of the Instituto Cervantes; we are Instituto Cervantes Accredited Teaching Centre, and we comply with the CEN regulations (Comité Européen de Normalisation) concerning the language study trips.

- The official exams that can be taken at IMSOL: we are offial examination centre for DELE exams (at all levels); CCSE exams for Spanish Citizenship; and also an official examination centre for specific courses for professionals: Spanish for Business, Tourism and Health. Thanks to the agreement made with the Chamber of Commerce of Madrid, we do prepare students for these exams and the students are able to do these exams directly at our school, under request.

- The personalized treatment and the quality in every service that we offer: our courses are organized into reduced groups, with native teachers that will follow your progress and will take care of your needs and skills.

4. Will we see you at any industry events?

Sure! As we are members of FEDELE, we might coincide at FEDELE’s ANNUAL MEETING in Spain. We have been present in other events; our calendar of events varies every year.

5. Do you have any plans for the future of the school?

We are focused on improving our current programmes and services. We adapt our courses’ contents to the demand and the new resources every year. Apart from that, we are also thinking of improving our online presence (we have a new web design in mind) and maybe adding new services to our catalogue, such as online courses... Many projects come to our mind! We hope to share them with all of you soon.
