Humboldt-Institut Opens New Summer Center in Bavaria

Published on Thursday, March 23, 2017

German language provider Humboldt-Institut opens a new summer location for July 2017 in the Bavarian city of Kempten.

Located in the southernmost holiday region of Germany, at the foothills of the Alps, Kempten is close to famous Neuschwanstein castle.

Based at the JUFA youth hostel, with whom the Humboldt-Institut also collaborates for its summer camp in Meersburg, the program in Kempten will be available during the month of July for teenage students from 14 to 18 years of age. Stays are available for either two or four weeks, including residential accommodation in triple en-suite rooms, full board and a daily activity program as well as excursions. The German courses are offered from total beginners up to an upper-intermediate level of B2.

"With an intensive course program we try to optimize student success in the shortest possible amount of time, all while making it fun to study in a motivating, German language learning environment," says Humboldt's managing director Mr. Lennart Güthling.

The program will feature thirty 45-minute lessons per week, a daily activity program and two excursions per week. Planned are trips to Munich, Lake Constance, the royal castles of Bavaria and more. The city of Kempten and the surrounding Allgäu region are a very popular tourist destination in southern Germany due to many outdoor attractions and the beautiful landscape.

The new summer center joins Humboldt-Institut's already existing 12 summer course locations and 4 year-round schools for junior, teenage and adult students. Transfer is available from the two nearest airports in Memmingen (30min) and Munich (1:50h). Memmingen offers many connections from low-cost carriers like Ryanair and WizzAir whereas Munich serves as a hub for Lufthansa and many other major airlines.
